Task 1 - Researching and exploring ideas

this animation was of an aquarium and when your mouse goes over one of the fish they move.
in this animation there are god parts and bad parts for example the graphics are nice and simplified. with the use of vector images it makes it more clean. the colours that are used help make it bright and attractive. unfortunetly the screen is too crowded and the animation that the fish do are delayed.
the overall idea of making them do something when you hover over them is good and i would like to put that into my animation.

in this animation it was a point and shoot game. you had to shoot the fish down but you also had to avoid the bombs. i liked the way that it was more that just point and shoot. and the graphics are interesting.
the bad thing was the fact that all the graphics were dark so you couldn't really see were the bombs were coming down from, but i think that is also a good point so that it makes the game harder. the graphics were made in flash so the quality didn't get worse as you zoomed in which gave of a more professional affect.
overall the coding was good as it wasn't slow when playing and it didn't lag when telling the character to move.
I think that they could have made the fish into something else to make it make more sense, but apart from that i think that this was a good example of a game as it was interactive and it was made well.

this example is like an interactive fish tank. the animation in this is very smooth  and when you hover over them they swim away or if you click the screen they swim towards it. this example is very good as it has allot of detail added into the graphics. the graphics are bitmaps so that puts it down a bit because there is then a limit on how big it can get. also some of the fish that are in this tank have a different perspective for example the orange fish have a birds eye view and the others have a side view. i like the idea of having the fish realistic and having them interact with your click. in my animation i would like to make my fish interact with you when you click or to follow your mouse

after doing research on interactive games  we visited the national marine aquariam to research on what fish were in there and in what tank.
we first had to gather information to help us generate ideas. i collected allot of photos and listened to what the people had to say about the aquarium. after hearing that the aquarium's original purpose was to show the people of Plymouth what we had in our waters my team decided that we wanted to focus on the main fish tank about Plymouth. unfortunately because of the absence of fish we had to do allot of research on what used to be in that tank. we used the aquarium's official website to help us find out what fish were inside the tank. after we decided on what fish we were going to focus on, we had to research on how they live and what the look like so it was educationally accurate. my part of this project was to create the visuals for our interactive animation so i did research on what the fish and the environment that they lived in looked like.

this reaserach helped allot because it helped us think of what fish we wanted to include in our animation and what tank to base it on. it also helped us to start thinking about what animations ans interactivenes we whanted to put in out progect.

Task 2 - Developing an idea for interaction work

my team had decided that we wanted to make an interactive fish tank but it was going to start of with a short clip of a boat sailing and then you diving into the water. after we had decided that we wanted to add an environmental aspect to our interactive animation. my lecturer had shown my team a game were you had to look for certain objects and then click on them to remove them from the scenery. so we decided that we wanted to put this into our animation to make it more interactive and interesting for children. also we developed the idea that once you have found all the rubbish/trash then a bubble will come up with the information about rubbish in Plymouth's environment.

Task 3 - Working within constraints

before we could start making our animation we had to visit the aquarium to be given our brief.
we were told that they want the fish to be accurate for example a shark has to have the correct number of gills. they also wanted it to be educational and interactive.
so we then set out to look for information to make it as informative and educational as posible without becoming boring for children.

Task 4 - Completing the work

these are some of the graphics that i have xcreated for my teams interactive animation. theses are the main fish that we had decided to put into our animation, because they were listed on the plymouth aquariam's website as being in plymouths waters.
the background i had created was based on the information i had found out about the giant tank in the aquaraim that was made for plymouth sound section of the aquariam. the said that after all the fish had gone from the tank they wanted to re paint the tank more greeny because after looking more closely at our water it was more green then the colour of the tank they had. with the overall style of the graphics i whanted to make them realisticly drawn. so i researched on what they all looked like and i tried to re create them in  a program called paint tool sai. after i had done the graphics i gave them to my other team mate allong with the information that another team mate colected and he put them together into the animation.

Task 5 - Reviewing your own work

for this prodgect i am happy with the work i have created. i think that it is not as realistic as i would have liked it to be but ufortunetly with my skills i have so far this was the beast i could have drawn them. apart from that factor i am pleased with my graphical outcome of the prodgect. unfortunetly i would have liked to help out with some of the flash work and coding to put the animation together. i am overall very happy with the outcome of this project.
